Who Ever Knew

Who ever knew that sandpaper could be so gorgeous. Took these photos after doing the final sanding on the edges of my panels. About to pitch them in the garbage I finally "saw" them. Yummy butter yellow with soft white plaster and charcoal from the paint. The lines look scribbled and smudged and I like the straight lines and grid, actually they are covered with grids of the sanded off material by the time I throw them out.

  1. I like the colors. Nice you "saw" them in time. Sometimes it is just around the corner what we're searching for.

  2. You seem to find the beauty in everything...even throw away things.

  3. Your buttery, sandpaper photos with their smudged lines have a wonderful resonance to the wind patterned show shots of your last post. It seems that these photographs represent the possibilities that are always before us if only we can see them.

  4. Hi cerulean, layers and Hannah, thanks so much for your lovely comments. I suspect we all see beauty in the thrown away, under appreciated and ignored, as soon as we start paying attention. One of the main reasons of doing this blog was to pay more attention, to see the little things. In a way get to a better state of balance, especially between the large, imposing and grandiose and the smaller, hiding [hidden] and often more intimate. Thanks for keeping me company on the journey.
