Can't bear to stay inside these days, perfect weather. Cool nights, clear, hot, dry days. So I decided to extend the studio garden. Wandering about, looking for plants to move into the new space, in a daze from the scent of peonies, I came upon this clematis which I planted a while ago, forgot, and found blooming on an old honeysuckle. Tricky to photo it's tiny tendrils in a breeze. Often, the world becomes a water world with the macro lens, and while I love that and it, I do wonder what reality I'm in.

Before even reading the title of your post,I looked at the images and thought wow- the tendrils are mark making. Stunning calligraphy marks. When nature is so remarkable i often wonder why we as artists bother ........ Beautiful photos - you have great eyes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan, love tendrils reaching out, searching for something to grasp on to and take off and like you I often wonder why I bother when all about this world is so remarkable, mmnn, that word remark....maybe that's all I do, re mark, kind of like a dog saying this is my territory.
Deletelove that Liz - remark. Re mark ......... trace marks and so forth. I can see a body of work along those lines. Mark (nature), re mark (artwork). It clicks with me as I have done work with such things as interpretations and reinterpretations .... a nice flow. Thoughts humming. Thanks.
DeleteI love it when words ring out and say PAY ATTENTION, thoughts humming....where next?
DeleteYou've found such beautiful line drawings in the clematis tendrils, like gently lilting music.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Altoon, they were gently lilting in the breeze so nice if that came through in the photos.
DeleteBeautiful - I was looking at the nasturtium tendrils yesterday and thought of taking photographs of them!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie, My nasties are only about 4 in high, but can't wait, they are such a great flower to photograph. Can't wait to see yours.

Merci Denise, ne sont pas nous avoir une année record dans le jardin? Je ne me souviens d'une année où l'odeur était si forte. J'espère que vous êtes face à cette vague de chaleur.
