A brief trip to New York City to celebrate our 41 years together, full of magic; meeting new friends, spending time with darling nieces, seeing Matisse again and again and again, visiting the Met, again and again, snow and cold, Brussels sprouts on every menu, taxis without shock absorbers, champagne, galleries, fun, kind and friendly people, a kaleidoscope of sound, colour, vitality; it was wonderful.
