"Mon pays ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver" is the first line of a wonderful song by Gilles Vigneault: it's really Québec's national anthem and roughly translates as my land is not a land, it's winter. And yesterday as the temperature warmed up to -10C, and the snow fell and crunched underfoot, I was able to open up some of the paths to the woods, stomping my way through the snow on my snowshoes.

Votre l'hiver c'est magnifique!
ReplyDeleteBrave soul that you are to have ventured out in those temps. Stay warm up there!
Thanks Jennifer, we had easy winters for the last few years, so I need to toughen up and get out there, cabin fever sets in easily!
DeleteIt looks so beautiful...but I'm glad I don't have to live there!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is beautiful Connie and some days I long for spring or warmth, just the ease of walking in and out of the house without a zillion layers of clothes.
DeleteEt notre pays est très long cette année.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the white.
We blame everything on the Polar Vortex this year Maya, I had never heard of the term until this year. Enjoy your long winter!
DeleteThat to a UK resident is serious winter ... stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlton, we canadians tend to take our winter way too seriously, I've taken to seed/garden catalogues. Now there's a treat!
