We've started the renovation of our 40 year old bathroom, actually we haven't, Will, David and Benoit are doing the work this time and this is what they uncovered yesterday, a love letter from my darling; makes my heart sing.

Uncovered love letter, August 21, 1975 |
that's a keeper!!
ReplyDeleteI think so too Lisa, and even better I think it can be kept, covered over by the new wall and waiting to be found again.
DeleteAwwwwww!
ReplyDeleteI know, he is such a darling that man! Thanks Anna.
DeleteHow fabulous is that I think it should stay where it is! I love finding old things when decorating especially somebody elses house we have found old newspapers and photographs from previous occupants and I tend to put them back so others can stumble across them in the future. I wonder what the next occupants might think of the above!!!
ReplyDeleteI love finding these old thing too Lynda, I just found out they are removing this layer of wall too so who knows what else we might find. J and I have left memos overtime we have renovated; but this is the last renovation.
DeleteWe just heard that the whole block of houses across the street from us will be bulldozed--along with a row of 6 massive poplars--to make way for a rental complex. We have to live more densely to be sustainable as a city, but I wonder how many love notes will be lost.
ReplyDeleteO shit, can you bring any pressure on them to at least keep the trees...I love finding the beautiful old wall papers and today some gorgeous trim that we will try to copy. Ps don't forget to add love letter to every renovation Tracy!
DeleteThat is the best renovation advice ever! Happy renovating.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy, it will await your next visit.
DeleteInteresting. An artist before you. Seems appropriate:) 🌻Laura
ReplyDeleteActually a drawing my husband made, covered over and forgotten. It was a treat to find.
