Caught My Eye

Hours on the computer working on coffee cups. The pile grows. 56 are finished, 14 or 15 more to do. All I see are circles, moons, cells, suns. Taking a break, walking about outside, the garden nags me, I ignore it. And then my eye catches this.

Tiny mushrooms in the grass

  1. Thanks, Liz. I would enjoy seeing them one by one as well, There's a mushroom I can see through my back window that I should go and check out!

    1. Thanks joan, they seem to be springing up all over, just found one with the longest leg, quite funny. Maybe looking for friends?

  2. Mushrooms, seriously? Of course they are. But at first it looked like they were photoshopped renditions of the coffee rings. Mandalas, definitely.

    1. Glad you like them Connie, I thought they were flowers when I caught them out of the corner of my eye. I might not even have noticed if some didn't have the white markings.

  3. Lovely. Rich and earthy little creatures we typically side-silhouette to capture their stem and cap. Your overhead shots are beautiful...and in fact, I can almost smell the wet/damp forest under my feet. Each a wonder.

    1. Thanks Jj, I love those shots of the undersides of mushrooms, the pattern is beautiful, so are the colors. We have been very dry so all this mist and rain and general damp is great, everyone is so much happier. Mind you we have had a week now and everyone is saying enough.

    1. Thanks Anonymous for the warning, I am a sissy about eating wild mushrooms, always buy them from the grocery store. I read a lot of John Cge when i was younger and he always seemed to be rushed off to hospital, put me off foraging for mushrooms completely.
