Lily of the Valley

Today you can walk out the kitchen door to the soft, sweet scent of lily of the valley, a nostalgic scent for me as my grandmother used to wear it. So all morning that old song has been running through my head; you remember the one some of us leaned around campfires, "White coral bells upon a slender stalk, Lillies of the valley deck my garden walk, Oh, don't you wish, That you could hear them ring, That will happen only when the fairies sing." A magical morning.

  5. How perfect and lovely these are. Ours in a warm spring are long gone. Looking at the trees, we're almost into summer.

    1. You don't have them Fiona? I keep forgetting how different how different our climates are, the scent is a soft sweet, but not too, and so delicate.

  8. Stunning image. My aunt grew this beside her house - the only time I have ever seen it growing.
