A new pattern appeared on the kitchen windows this morning, lines of frost, in the middle of the windows. Hmmm temperature dropped overnight, and the wind is blowing. Hello Spring…hello Spring…can you hear me….

Wonderful lines! Spring will be most welcome though. Hoping it arrives up your way soon.

ReplyDeleteThanks Sharmon, I hope it reads 'coming soon'!
Deletethese frost marks remind me very much of some of my earliest etching plates in the body of work I made for 'The Art of Language' and they were based on the Elder Ruthark runic markings ..... I was not as interested in the meaning of the runes as much as the fact that they were such an early form of marking, or language, used to communicate. Often scribed into rock ... fascinating. I should send you some of the images so you can see the similarity - I even made them in small square plates!
ReplyDeleteOooo, I would love to see Susan, I made a set of runes years ago of sea stones, please send , I love all these marks/languages.
DeleteI know you must be well and truly sick of winter by now; but if it has to stay at least it is giving you gifts…these are delightful and I am glad you found them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona, these marks were lovely gifts, and I'm just whinging away after having easy [short] winters for the last few years. My hat is off to all our pioneers!
