Glimpses of Change

The Fall Equinox has come and gone; ahead lies the monastery door of winter. Dawn wakens me at 6 am instead of 4.30 am, and lying in bed this morning, watching the mist or low cloud come and go, lighting the maple outside the windows, reminded me, once again, all is change. The 1st window is at the bottom of the bed, the maple tree slowing putting on her party clothes, while I have to move my head to see out the second window where the hills and mountain come in and out of existence.

  1. What a beautiful view to wake to. A few of our trees here in CT have begun to turn fall's colors. Can't wait for the burning bushes to show their red.

  2. Beautiful images to wake to - and such lovely soft light. We are watching the reverse - with buds appearing, and bright flowers returning. All is change...

  3. Hi Jennifer, love the tree outside our bedroom window, a tiny bit like wwaking up in a tree house and like you waiting for the burning bush to become its ball of fire. A couple of branches are beginning to turn.

Hi Fiona, thanks, the light is wonderful and as the tres loose their leave even more light inside the house. I envy you entering spring, I love all the seasons but spring holds promise.

  6. We have a large maple too and see it when we sit up and have coffee at first light. Part of the joy of being alive is to notice the beauty that surrounds us. I think that connects many of us as artists - to notice.

  7. Hi Denise, to imagine, to dream the world in all her beauty. Thanks.

Hi Donna, living on a cliff overlooking water is my idea of a dream place to live. Love the difference in light at the ocean. Love this season but feel my heels digging in and saying "Stay, stay, I am not ready for the white world"

Hi Leslie, thanks for the the word Joy, it's so right. Drinking coffee, watching the world come into being day after day is an immense pleasure. Enjoy your coffee, off to put on a pot.
