I have to admit I'm a person who loves to weed. I love how my focus changes to small from the usual overview, and I love recreating order. Weeding lets me see things I would normally overlook, the intricate pattern of the leaves and petals, the play of subtle shifts of light and shadow, of colour, and especially scent, whether it's catnip, roses, or ferns. And at the end of the day as I walk around the garden, I start to plan where I'll start tomorrow, and I can hardly wait.

Your garden looks beautiful. I will have to look at weeding from this perspective. I suspect you enjoy and savour every little aspect of life.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon, I often wonder if gardening isn't some kind of determination to impose order on chaos, then I go back to weeding!
DeleteSpectacular photos, as always. I've got a couple of those same purple poppies just blooming now, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie, these little ones are charmers, I'm waiting for the pale pink to bloom, but I can't remember where I scattered the seeds. Surprise in store!
