It's almost over, this time of magnificence of the land. There will be a frost soon; the latest I have known, and the land will tilt towards winter. But for now there are still gems to be found and today my eyes saw these dried ferns and milkweed pod blown open, having done their job and scattered their seeds to the wind.

Milkweed leaves...I think |
These are so beautiful - especially the milkweed leaves.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very warm autumn here too and so far without frost. A lovely walk through beech trees today and a picnic overlooking a favourite view - amazing.
Thanks Charlton, I was thrilled with the color of the milkweed, and like you this glorious weather continues, spent most of the last few days putting the garden to bed, wish we had been picnicking!
Deletereally fine photographs here.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Velma, they are actually scans.
DeleteI love the haunting ethereal look of these Liz - are the scanned with black paper background or do you somehow add that later?
ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona, I made a black lined box to fit over the scanner bed, it also means I don't have to crush the objects I'm scanning when i close the lid. Go well
