First, small fuzzy knobs appear on the floor of the shady areas of the garden. The next time you look, they have legs, very hairy legs. And the next time you look the cocoon is splitting and green is emerging, folded into itself, pleated in a curve. I love watching these tiny, miraculous, impersonal bursting[s] into spring.
Such amazing photographs. That first one had me holding my breath while viewing the others. Your garden must be simply exquisite.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jennifer, I am so lucky to live here, to have this enormous pleasure!
DeleteWhat wonderful photographs. You inspire me to get out into my garden - and beyond - with my camera. Spring is coming so quickly here in the UK too. If I leave it much longer I will have missed the miracle.
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlton, I would love spring to slow down....maybe a couple of months longer!
