We were having a coffee, in a little cafe that we have never been to before. And this is what I got. Love the way coffee answers all the questions.

The Heart Wood

After the big wind storm of last week and just before the big snow storm of this week, our friend Aurel had time to cut and haul away the 4 big trees we lost to the wind. The Manitoba Maple is considered a weed tree but the colors of the heart wood are glorious. See what you think!

Needed to prune a couple of the old apple trees, actually cut out some of the dead limbs. I love the heart exposed. After I posted this I went outside and sat under an old crab apple with my morning coffee, while the dew slid of the leaves and on to me.
