Purging the Studio

In my determination to clean up the studio and free up working space and storage space, I tackled a pile of drawings that needed to be culled. So I started ripping and tearing with the intent of putting the pieces in the garbage; but then I noticed the torn edges of the paper and started to play. One step forward, 2 steps back for the studio clean up.

Found

Searching through my flat files the other day and found these collages from the big studio clean up of the spring. I thought I had put all the bits and pieces that were torn up in the trash, but somehow these were saved; actually I was glad to find them, I just need to take better photos.

Drawing And Playing

A drawing from last week wanted to play with some photos of Christmas tree lights, and then parts of a very messy collage; and then to top it all off, with scotch tape. I was thinking of using some of the discarded drawings for Christmas wrapping paper until I remembered we don't "do" presents. Besides this is more fun.

Weeding

Was in Toronto last weekend and spent some time yesterday weeding through photos I took. Concrete still facinates me and love the shot of a friends shoes in his studio, which I collaged with more concrete walls.
